Seal
hunting is an ancient Eskimo tradition. The best hunting is
in the Winter when the sea is frozen and one can venture out
on foot. The seal hunter looks for an area with lots of small
blow holes in the ice where the seals come up for air. Once
he finds a well used blowhole, the hunter positions himself
in the striking position as seen in this silk-screen. The hunter
will remain motionless for hours or until a seal comes up for
a quick breath.
