Southeast
Alaska is a paradise of thousands of miles of waterways and hardly
any roads at all; certainly none that connect the larger towns.
So to go from A to B, float planes are in! Boats of all descriptions
and sizes cruise the waters. One of the most common sites, if
you're out in the boonies, is a guy put-putting by in his skiff
with his black lab pretending to be the navigator. He's probably
on a mission to cut some firewood or to empty his crab pot for
dinner. Perhaps it's the end of the working day and he's headed
for his buddy's cabin to play a game of checkers and talk politics.
