Nikita is unique from the standpoint that he seems to be the only dog in the Bearing Sea Eskimo village of Unalakleet that is not a sled dog. Huskies and Malamutes abound in the village and are perfectly comfortable outside in any weather. Nikita will surely be invited inside during the cold months.
