This hoist operator brings up a load of sockeye salmon from a commercial fishing boat below. The scene is of Pelican, a small SE village on Chichagof Island. I rarely put any smiles on the people I paint, even kids playing, but I decided to for this painting. My artwork tends to be cheerful enough without smiles, instead using bright colors, free flowing lines in the composition.
