One
of the many picturesque structures in Juneau is the Messerschmidt
Building, originally a bakery and now a small hotel. The
lobby boasts a chess game table and as likely as not is
occupied by sharply focused chess players.
The
"No Move" sign on the building refers to the upcoming
Alaska ballot proposition to move the legislative session
from Juneau to Anchorage.
