Many years ago a couple of friends went hunting in a skiff out of Hoonah. When they failed to return at the appointed time the Coast Guard was called. All they found was the skiff and a few belongings on the shore across from Icy Straits. While traveling the Alaska Marine Highway a few months later the Captain announced that they were taking time to stop the ship so that the family could have a memorial at sea. After the ceremony the ship continued it's voyage.
