MUNOZ TRAVELING

Rie has not slowed down since her 88th birthday last month. Currently she is traveling on a three week trip with friend Ruth Pederson to Palm Springs and Victoria, B.C. When she returns, she will head to Tenakee to relax from her vacation. In January Munoz will do her annual winter exodus to Morro Bay, California.

A STORY FROM THE ARCHIVES

Rie’s frugal brother, Piet, sold an old car many years ago but the title was never changed. The buyer abandoned the vehicle after a few months, and Piet was responsible for its disposal. Furious over the $300 cost, he came up with a much better plan:

He instructed his sons to dig a hole in his backyard, to the exact measurements of the vehicle. After stripping the motor and all other useful parts, the car was ‘laid to rest.’ Archeologists many centuries from now will no doubt marvel at this discovery.
