This abandoned cabin is one of many in Tenakee. Of course it's hard to tell if some cabins are abandoned or just 'carefully preserved' by their owners who might only come out a few times a year. Abandoned or not, the pilings are yellow cedar and the cabin will be there for many a decade yet.

The only danger to living right on the sea's edge is if there is a big tide with a big wind. Then large logs on the tide line are lifted up by the sea and come crashing in to the pilings like battering rams.
