MUNOZ NEWS

Alaska - December
2005
Rie
Muñoz has landed the cover of the December 2005
Alaska Magazine which features her watercolor, Double
Duty, plus a nice eight-page section of her work.
This is the second time Muñoz has been honored
on the cover; the first was the December 1993 issue which
showed Polar Bear and Fox. To the best of
our knowledge, Alaska Magazine, circulation 500,000, uses
only photographs as their cover art, with the exception
of Rie Muñoz! Make sure you get a copy of the issue.
This is important documentation of a great artists
work.
Speaking
of Polar Bear and Fox, Rie Muñoz
has just come out with a new cloisonné pin featuring
the popular silk-screen. It retails for $10 and is available
now. Rie Muñoz worked with Caryl McConkie with
the State of Alaska Department of Commerce and Economic
Development who ordered two thousand with State
of Alaska on the bottom of the pin. They will
be used as gifts for the Alaska Host program which welcomes
and educates industry personnel about the state.

MUNOZ PROGRAMS

Guests enjoying Margarets Rie Muñoz
program
Long time friend and collector, Margaret Symons of Seattle, has
been offering Rie Muñoz programs. Margaret visits with
various groups in the area that are interested in learning more
about Rie Muñoz. She hands out fun Muñoz items,
has door prizes, and generally enthralls her guest with a potpourri
of personal facts and fun stories about Rie. From the looks of
this photo it appears that they are all having a good time. Thank
you, Margaret, for your continued enthusiastic promotion of Rie!

MUNOZ ART CLASSES
Yes
its true. The ten kids of the Tenakee school have Rie Muñoz
for their art class teacher once a week for an hour during the
fall months. The class has been sketching, painting and learning
some of the basics of rendering their imagination in to art form.
The photo is courtesy of Yvonne Mozée of Sitka, Alaska
who came to visit Rie a couple of weeks ago in Tenakee.
This February's
release features three new prints by Rie Munoz. Entitled, "Field
Flowers" "High and Dry" and "King Crab"
these super lithographs will be available February, 2006.
