What a pleasant
surprise it was to receive word from the Juneau Convention and Visitors
Bureau requesting a photo shoot on behalf of Travel and Leisure Magazine!
The magazine sent a writer from their New York office to spend a week
touring the Juneau area and specifically requested a photo of Rie
Munoz in her gallery for their 'Winter Tourism' issue. The
magazine will publish the article next winter.

Rie
Munoz recently taught her granddaughter Mercedes' kindergarten class
at Juneau Community Charter School. The class of 17 got a sketching
lesson from Rie. The kids had loads of fun, as did Rie and their subject:
Kurt, the teacher. Munoz may take a group sketching by the boat harbor
when it warms up a bit more.
Juneau Community Charter School, which focuses on language
and the arts , was granted permission to use one of Rie's images,
"Cat's Cradle" 1975, plate #35 (POA) as their logo and for
a sign at the school.
