HIGHLINE
COMMUNITY COLLEGE POSTER
Highline Community College in Seattle has used Munoz's image of "Both
the Sun and Moon Belong to Women" for a poster Celebrating Women's
Programs at the College. This poster is 15" x 17" and is
available through the college at 1-206-878-3710 extension 3365, Jean
Munro contact, or at Rie Munoz Ltd. for $20.
Rie
Munoz agreed to model for the Salvation Army Fashion Show on April 19th.
Munoz participated in the annual fashion fund-raiser by modeling maternity
wear! With a pillow underneath an assortment of second-hand fashionable
garb, Rie brought the house down as the capacity crowd howled with delight.
Sorry,

TENAKEE
SCHOOL VISITS GALLERY
The
entire Tenakee School; all twelve kids, went to Juneau for their yearly
field trip last month. Along with stops at Eaglecrest Ski Resort, the
swimming pool, and the bowling alley, they also visited the Rie Munoz
Gallery. They were given a brief lecture on art, which bored them completely,
and were then given foam core to create their own works of art. We turned
up some rock and roll music to get the creative juices flowing.
The finished works of art were shrink wrapped, giving them a professional
gallery look.
MUNCIE
GOES TO HIS REWARD
Rie Munoz's
yellow lab has gone to his reward in dog heaven. Muncie died last
week after 15 years of being part of the Munoz family. We found
him on the streets in 1987 with a broken leash tied to him. After
a week of putting up announcements and advertisements seeking
the owner, we gave up and resigned ourselves to the fact that
Muncie was ours.
Being a "street dog" fending for himself, he was always on the
prowl to eat and chew. We were very forgiving as he would chew
inorganic objects about the house. At one point he even chewed
up the entire back seat of Rie's car! It was all very cute until
one day he chomped down one of Munoz's original watercolor paintings.
We broke him of that habit quick. Muncie Munoz was a good dog
and a loyal companion.
