I had been invited to stay with friends who operate a set net in Dry Bay, near Yakutat. One day as I was sketching, I saw an extraordinary cloud that kept changing shape. I called to my friends and we all watched, puzzled, as the strange cloud approached. The cloud turned out to be a huge flock of Artctic terns, which flew straight over us - a fantastic sight!
