500 Edition 10 1/4" x 13 1/4"
There are plenty of Dungeness crab in Tenakee, especially in the summer. This fellow has a bucket full of crab and is cleaning them on the beach. He has put a large nail or spike in the piling and uses that to break the crab in half, removing the guts. These Dungeness are so big that usually a person can only eat one. The seagulls and ravens will clean up all the scraps on the beach. They will also pick through any discarded shells thrown out the window after dinner.
