The Caribou Hunter of this Athabaskan legend came upon a women in the woods. She asked to live with him, but the hunter refused, since he had a wife at home. Eventually, though, he consented to live with her in her cabin. The moment the hunter moved in, the weather turned bad and the animals disappeared, leaving them without food. The women said she must leave him. As she started up the mountain, the fog lifted and the sun came out. All the animals returned and the man could hunt caribou again.
