The Pribilof Islands are noted primarily for their vast bird rookeries and hundreds of thousands of fur seals who summer on the island's rock or sand beaches where they give birth and raise their 'pups.' In a difference sense, the islands are also known for their raging storms when the ocean darkens and thunderous waves crash against the cliffs.
